Welcome Garden Club

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

At the July 18, 2011 meeting, the Keyport Business Alliance welcomed the Keyport Garden Club.  The Garden Club has worked tirelessly to beautify many areas of Keyport.  KBA has established the KGC as a semi-autonomous sub-committee of the Visual Improvement Committee.  The Garden Club will continue its beautification efforts of our wonderful community.

A brief overview of one of its upcoming very impressive efforts was given to the KBA board. Working with other volunteer groups and students, this effort will utilize Isaiah Zagar, a well known mosaic mural artist from Philadelphia, in creating a mural in Downtown Keyport.

The KBA has made a $5,000 donation to this project to help secure Mr. Zagar’s help and to unleash the artistic abilities of so many of our residents under the guidance of the man responsible for such efforts as the very popular Magic Garden project in Philadelphia. (More to come on this as we get closer).

Town-wide Yard Sale: Deals for Everyone

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Anybody looking for a bargain found it on June 12th at the Keyport yard sale.  The town was crawling with bargain hunters and bargain sellers, and everyone got to enjoy the unique neighborhoods that Keyport has to offer.

Food was aplenty from a number of houses, and people were upbeat as the weather held up and allowed some serious bargaining going on.  Foot traffic kept resident sellers busy, and several departed the town with a bargain in tow.

See the pictures below for the kinds of bargains that were available that day, and feel free to post comments on your experiences.  We’d love to hear from you!

Keyport Celebrates Grand Opening of the New Waterfront Park

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Springtime in Keyport is wonderful.  It has a great waterfront area with a string of stores and restaurants that is perfectly manageable for exploration on a warm summer day.

Now, with the advent of a rejuvenated waterfront park and a newly paved parking lot, there’s even more reason to celebrate.  Families crowded the area as the music rhythmically filled the air and invited people to clap, tap a foot, or even dance.  The firefighter association and coast guard were there in force, and the Keyport Garden Club helped beautify the springtime event with local flora that caught the eye of residents and visitors alike.

The pictures can’t convey what a great day it was for many of the people who came; you simply had to be there.  But they do exhibit the pride of this town as a long-awaited waterfront park now opens its arms to people looking for that perfect view of the bay, the city, or just the clear blue sky on a mid-spring day.

We’re looking forward to summer here.  Come visit us, see what we’re about!
